Socratic Partners is a semiconductor and AI-infrastructure focused investment firm backed by leading strategic LPs and financial institutions. We invest in technically differentiated companies solving foundational bottlenecks across compute, power, interconnect, packaging, and systems architecture.
We are seeking a motivated and analytical individual to join our team as an Associate. The successful candidate will support our investment team in evaluating prospective investments, monitoring portfolio companies and conducting market research with a strong emphasis on AI-enabled workflows. This is a unique opportunity to join a growing platform investing in one of the most dynamic and integral industries.
Minimum Qualifications
- 2-4 years of previous work experience in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, management consulting, or corporate development
- Graduated from a top-tier university with a strong academic record
- Exceptional attention to detail with strong organizational and written/verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with founders, investors, LPs, and other key stakeholders

The Role (What You’ll Actually Do)
End-to-End Deal Process Ownership
- Run deal execution and workstreams from start to finish
- Coordinate timelines across founders, legal, LPs, and internal stakeholders
- Manage data rooms, diligence trackers, follow-ups, and next steps
- Ensure deals progress without running into bottlenecks
- Hands-on with portfolio companies’ post-investment, including board-level engagement and ongoing support
Competitive & Ecosystem Mapping
- Build and maintain detailed technology maps of:
- Startups
- Public companies
- Academic and research eorts
- Track emerging companies before formal fundraising
- Surface competitive dynamics, white space, and crowding risks
- Own “who else is working this and why it matters” analysis
Proactive Sourcing & Market Coverage
- Systematically map priority ecosystems (power, optics, packaging, etc.)
- Build relationships with engineers, founders, researchers, and co-investors
- Ensure Socratic does not miss high-quality opportunities in its focus areas
- Support thematic research and long-term thesis development
- Manage internal CRM system and provide deal tracking reports for GPs
IC, Memo, and Materials Preparation
- Work with lead GPs to draft and refine investment memos and diligence summaries
- Prepare LP-facing materials and updates
- Produce work that is forwardable with minimal or no edits
- Maintain high standards of clarity, accuracy, and professionalism
Fundraising and LP Engagement
- Assist in the creation of fundraising, marketing, and LP-facing materials
- Help manage co-investment vehicles and SPV execution alongside deal teams
- Support ongoing LP communication, reporting, and relationship management
- Coordinate data requests, diligence follow-ups, and LP updates in partnership with GPs
