Rize’s 2021 wrap-up

With New Year finally here, what better time to take a look back at some of the highlights of 2021. And wow — what a year it has been!

From closing our Series A fundraise to more than doubling the size of our team, it has been a year of many milestones for Rize.

Let’s take a look at some of our favorite moments from the year…

We’ve grown! We started off the year with 18 employees and are headed into 2022 with 40 Rizers. We are now in 16 states and 5 different time zones.

Rize also prides itself on the fact that we have 55% women on the team with a 33% female leadership team, and 46% female engineers. We are proud to continue to break the gender gap in the fintech industry.

We’ve had 18 Rizers hit their 1–3 year anniversaries and 23 team members will be celebrating their 1st rize-aversary in 2022.

Thanks to our hiring efforts (and over 6,000 resumes reviewed), our team more than doubled this year allowing us to accomplish our company goals in 2021.

Starting with our re-brand. Rize got a new look this year and we think it deserves a round of applause.

We also launched our Developer Toolkit, which allows those developing against our platform to build a prototype application from top to bottom in less than 30 minutes. You can watch the full walkthrough here.

Our team also closed a $11.4 million Series A round co-led by Alpha Edison and Morpheus Ventures. This major milestone allows us to continue to improve our core product to further support the needs of our builder customers.

Shortly after we announced our Series A, we shared that Rize officially partnered with Plaid. This partnership allows bank accounts connected via Plaid to be added to the Rize platform for funding accounts or withdrawing money, all while protecting sensitive account details. We are excited to build more partnerships 2022.

We also want to shout out the Rize team for attending over a dozen conferences and events this year. Following up a year of no travel, we are glad we got to safely meet some of our fintech friends and partners in person. Not to mention, all the connections we were able to make digitally via podcasts, clubhouse, and webinars!

We accomplished all of this while having over 418 full days of PTO taken in addition to 12 company holidays for all. Cheers to work/life balance!

And if you think all of this is cool, wait until you see what else we have coming this year. Our Synthetic Core architecture allows us to do things that have never been done before in this industry and we can’t wait to share more.
