Leader in LEO satellite infrastructure brings high-performance and resilient capabilities to the GPS and complementary PNT ecosystem
The GPS Innovation Alliance (GPSIA), the leading association for companies developing and deploying GPS and other space-based positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) technologies, announced Xona as its newest member. A pioneer in developing navigation in Low Earth Orbit (LEO), Xona’s L-band commercial satellite navigation system will deliver stronger signals, higher accuracy, and greater resilience against interference and spoofing to complement and enhance existing GPS infrastructure.
“We are thrilled to welcome Xona to the GPS Innovation Alliance as complementary space-based technologies increasingly play a central role in the evolution of the global PNT architecture and systems,” said GPSIA Executive Director Lisa Dyer. “Xona’s innovative approach to L-band LEO- PNT delivers the precision and built-in protection against jamming and spoofing that are essential for infrastructure we rely on every day and tomorrow’s autonomous systems. Their expertise will be vital as GPSIA continues to advocate for complementary PNT technologies as part of a national strategy to strengthen U.S. leadership in PNT.”
Xona is deploying Pulsar, a high-performance LEO constellation designed to bring centimeter-level certainty to the billions of devices that rely on GPS today. Through compatibility with existing GNSS chipset and receivers, Pulsar is accelerating adoption across industries including defense, precision agriculture, critical infrastructure, and autonomous systems. With its California satellite manufacturing facility now online, Xona will begin scaled launches of its production constellation beginning October 2026.
“GPS transformed the world, and the demands placed on navigation and timing systems today continue to evolve,” said Brian Manning, Co-Founder and CEO of Xona. “We believe resilient, high-performance PNT will require complementary layers that can rapidly improve and adapt over time. We’re excited to work alongside GPSIA and its members to help strengthen this global infrastructure for generations to come.”
The addition of Xona further strengthens GPSIA’s coalition of companies committed to protecting, modernizing, and advancing GPS, GNSS, and complementary PNT technologies. The company joins Apple; Deere & Company; Garmin; Lockheed Martin; NovAtel, part of Hexagon; Trimble; and TrustPoint, as well as a host of national organizations in GPSIA’s affiliates program. Together, these members represent the full ecosystem of industries that depend on trusted, resilient positioning and timing. As a GPSIA member, Xona will help advance shared priorities to safeguard these essential systems and reinforce U.S. leadership in the global PNT landscape.
