Flaw Gaming and Gunzilla Games launch Pioneer Cup for Off The Grid

Gunzilla Games has announced the Pioneer Cup in partnership with competitive gaming guild Flaw Gaming, introducing a high-stakes solo tournament for Off the Grid.

The event, scheduled for February 28th and March 1st, 2026, will crown one top player, who will receive the Tacoma Pioneer, a rare legacy weapon inside the game’s ecosystem.

The organisers confirmed that the tournament will focus strictly on individual competition, replacing previous team-based formats. According to the announcement, the Pioneer Cup is built to test mechanical accuracy, survival discipline, and in-game decision-making in the Web3 gaming shooter.

Solo Format Raises Competitive Stakes

According to Flaw Gaming’s official statement, the Pioneer Cup qualifiers will take place on February 28th. Pool A begins at 19:00 CET, followed by Pool B at 22:00 CET.

Each pool will feature four matches played on the Fire Fly server, where consistent placement and extraction choices will determine who advances.

The finals are set for March 1st at 20:00 CET, with five matches deciding the champion. Notably, the tournament maintains a strict solo structure throughout. There are no teammates, and no revives.

Competition Reward: The Tacoma Pioneer

Meanwhile, organisers confirmed that the Tacoma Pioneer will serve as the headline prize. The weapon, described by community reports as a high-performance SMG variant with an increased fire rate, belongs to the limited Pioneer line first distributed during early development.

Additionally, secondary market activity suggests rare skins and sets within the ecosystem have traded between 1,000 and over 5,000 US dollars in $GUN tokens, underlining the prestige attached to legacy items.

Registration details are expected via the FLAW Discord hub. Participants may be required to complete account verification and confirm clean competitive records before approval.

These measures, organisers explained, are intended to protect competitive integrity and preserve the long-term value of the prize.

What Is Off the Grid?

Off The Grid is a free-to-play cyberpunk battle royale shooter developed by Gunzilla Games. Set on the futuristic Teardrop Island, the game mixes traditional last-man-standing combat with story-driven missions woven into its world.

Off The Grid blends PvP and PvE gameplay, with up to 150 players competing in each match while completing narrative objectives that gradually reveal the island’s backstory.

Its standout feature, the cybernetic limb system, lets players swap limbs for advanced prosthetics, boosting combat and mobility for smarter, more tactical fights.

The game runs on the GUNZ network, an Avalanche-based Layer 1, letting players extract Hexes, blueprints for weapons, cosmetics, and cyberlimbs, and mint them as NFTs.

Blockchain and Competitive Growth

Alongside its Steam Early Access launch, Gunzilla Games continues to expand both the competitive and blockchain sides of Off The Grid.

In June 2025, over 21,000 players migrated in-game testnet assets to mainnet, with 10,000 validator nodes activated and 413,000 HEX decodings generating nearly $13m (~£9.6m) in trading volume.

While Steam excludes NFTs and $GUN features, Gunzilla maintains off-platform access for minting, token trading, and validator participation.
