Davies has partnered with ChopValue and Fnatic

Everton midfielder Tom Davies has partnered with ChopValue and leading esports organisation Fnatic to help deliver the world’s most sustainable gaming desk to the public in order to offset the carbon footprint generated by esports.

ChopValue specialise in recycling and providing businesses with sustainably sourced chopsticks to help design minimalistic products in order to improve the planet.

The 24-year-old spoke of his passion for working with a company like ChopValue and the importance their message has on the rest of society.

“It’s a really nice process and something I was really keen to get involved with,” he told JOE.

“It ticks a lot of boxes for me. It was something that was great for the environment and how much a small thing can have a really big benefit.

“For me, this is a great opportunity to not only do some good in recycling chopsticks, saving carbon, saving landfill but this also a chance for me to educate people that want to learn about this.”

Although many footballers have been using their platform in order to make the world a better place, they are still accused of ‘virtue signalling’ however Davies has said that as long as he knows he is doing the right thing, he won’t listen to those that criticise.

“I have my own morals in my life and as long as I stick to them, I can look at myself in the mirror and feel like I’m doing the right thing,” he added.
