Deployers, rejoice! Helium World is getting a major upgrade

The Helium community has spoken, and the Helium World team has been listening.

For a long time, deployers have said that managing Hotspots shouldn’t require a background in crypto. Seed phrases were confusing. Interfaces were clunky. Splitting rewards with venue partners was a manual headache.

To address these issues, the Helium World team rebuilt the deployer experience from the ground up. Those changes are now live.

What’s new

For new deployers, the biggest shift is how accounts are created: just an email, no seed phrases required. The 24-word seed phrase (long a source of lost accounts and support tickets) is gone. In its place, Helium World uses Privy for authentication, with passkey support that makes signing in nearly invisible across all your devices.

For existing deployers, the biggest change is being able to manage Hotspots from a full web-based platform on desktop or mobile. The new dashboard provides clear status indicators, reduced crypto jargon, and the ability to onboard Hotspots directly from a computer. Detailed fleet reports are also on the way.

Reward splitting, built in

One of the most requested features is now part of the platform. Hotspot owners can split rewards with venue hosts by sharing a QR code. When the host scans it, Helium World automatically creates an account for them. Both the deployer and the host see the same dashboard: what the Hotspot is earning, how it’s performing, and where the rewards are going. Splits are fully adjustable and can be edited at any time.

For deployers managing relationships across multiple venues, this removes one of the biggest operational headaches: generating separate reports and coordinating payouts manually.

What about existing deployers?

A migration tool is now in development to make transferring existing Hotspots to the new platform straightforward. Existing Builder app users will be prompted to migrate their Hotspots when they next log in. In the meantime, new Hotspots can be onboarded directly through Helium World. The platform supports both Mobile and IoT Hotspots.
