ColdSnap News: We scream for ColdSnap pod ice cream

Oh. My. Pod.

There’s a Keurig-style pod machine on the market that doesn’t pour coffee into a mug, but ice cream into a bowl.

Gizmodo reports that the machine, named ColdSnap, delivers on-demand soft serve ice cream to drooling mouths everywhere. According to the company’s website, the ColdSnap machine can create ice cream of the dairy and non-dairy persuasion, frozen yogurt, frozen smoothies, and frozen protein shakes.

And yes—you can make frozen coffee, plus cocktails.

According to the step-by-step graphics on the ColdSnap website, the process of making these treats is incredibly simple: Just choose a pod, insert it into the top, wait about 60 to 90 seconds, then, voila, all done!

Even more clever is that the ingredients of the ColdSnap machine are shelf-stable, which means that they don’t need to be refrigerated and, thus, won’t be taking up room in your fridge or freezer. The only thing that Gizmodo points out is that ColdSnap is a bit on the larger side, but what’s a little counter space for more ice cream?

The brand also expounds upon the machine’s moral side. According to the company’s mission statement, “ColdSnap…is independent of the expensive, unreliable, and environmentally unfriendly ‘cold chain’ that is used to bring factory-frozen ice cream and other frozen products to market.”

On top of that, the pods can be directly shipped to your homes, and the actual preparation of the ice cream has practically zero mess involved. That is, until you start to dump all that whipped cream and chocolate syrup on top…

Pricing for the ColdSnap pod ice cream machine has yet to be made available.
