- Butler takes charge of APAC as Weiner moves to lead North American business
- Leadership changes draw on deep regional experience as bolttech enters its next phase of growth
bolttech, the global insurtech, has announced leadership appointments across its Asia-Pacific and North American businesses as it strengthens its leadership team for its next phase of growth in the two regions.
Emma Butler has been appointed CEO, APAC, and will join bolttech’s group executive committee with immediate effect. She succeeds Philip Weiner, who has been appointed CEO, North America, with responsibility for leading bolttech’s North American business.
Weiner succeeds Jon Walheim, who is transitioning out of the role and supporting a smooth leadership handover while remaining as an advisor to the Group CEO.
Butler is a long-standing leader at bolttech, with more than 20 years of experience across insurance, banking and retail in Asia and Europe. She currently serves as regional general manager for Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam, where she has played an important role in growing the business, strengthening strategic partnerships and developing high-performing teams across the region.
Having joined AmTrust Mobile Solutions Asia in 2015, prior to its acquisition and integration into bolttech, Butler brings deep institutional knowledge of the business and extensive experience building and scaling operations across diverse markets.
Her appointment provides regional leadership and strategic continuity in Asia-Pacific as bolttech continues to scale its business across the region.
Weiner has been part of bolttech since its inception as a founding member of its executive team and has held several senior leadership roles across the Group, including Group chief data officer, chief commercial officer for Asia & Europe, and most recently CEO, APAC.
An actuary by training, he brings more than two decades of insurance expertise alongside experience across technology, data and AI. Prior to bolttech, Weiner held senior roles at FWD Insurance and Manulife, with responsibilities spanning product development, pricing and commercial growth strategy.
Rob Schimek, Group CEO, bolttech, said, “This is a very exciting time for bolttech. Philip and Emma are highly respected leaders with strong track records and a deep understanding of our business, markets and partners. Their appointments provide continuity and position us well as we continue executing our long-term growth strategy. Our focus remains firmly on supporting our partners and customers and delivering against our strategic priorities across the business.”
